I’ll be honest. It’s not easy to be a Ron Paul supporter. I put up with a lot of trash talk, but what I cannot stand is when people say stuff like; “Chris, why don’t you take off your Ron Paul 2012 bumper sticker? Romney is going to be the Republican Nominee.”
To which I say, “So let me explain it to you this way. You are sports fan right (let’s say Steelers for this example)? Well, if the Steelers were going to play against the Baltimore Ravens and EVERYONE said that there is NO WAY that the Steelers are going to win. All of the experts and even your close friends said ‘NOT GONNA HAPPEN.’
Would you, at that point, give up and say ‘Ok, you’re right, nevermind’ OR would you continue to support your team until the game is over regardless of the outcome?!”
“Or what about a marathon? What if you trained and trained for a marathon, and you ran as well as you could, but you were not winning? Would you just give up? Would you say I’m not going to win, so I should just quit and not cross the finish line?”
Perspective means a lot in life. Maybe you will gain some by changing yours.
